Project Information:
The project is situated in a greenfield area within the Karatau mountain region of the Karauzak District, Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. The site is located around 730 km west of Tashkent, 83 km east of the city of Nukus, and 62 km north of the city of Urgench. The Project consists of 16 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and each WTG has a capacity of 6.5 MW. As part of the Project, a new 220 kV overhead transmission line (OHTL) approximately 16 km in length will connect to an existing 220 kV OHTL near to the highway A380 and an access road approximately 12 km in length will connect the Project area with an existing road to the north-west which connects the A380 to the settlements Aimbed-Ishan and Karauzak to the north.

Project Activities:
Participation in the development of relevant Management Plans such as the Resettlement Action Plans (RAP) and Livelihood Management Plans for the different project RAPs;
— Supporting the implementation of the Environmental Social Management plans related to community development with respect to the Resettlement Action Plans (RAP), Livelihood Management Plans and any other related plans at community level;
— Supporting Project Affected Persons (PAPS) due to economic or physical displacement to regain livelihood in a sustainable manner within the same or similar context while mitigating any negative impacts towards the company’s daily operations;
— Updating and implementing the Project’s management plans in line with the designated resettlement areas;
— Participating in the establishment of a stakeholder plan for the PAPs in conjunction with the social team;
— Monitoring and evaluation of the respective management plans and projects started up for different PAPs within the license area.
