Project Information:

The objective of the development of an Environmental and Impact Statement (ZVOS) for the “Construction of an agri-photovoltaic power plant” is to identify and assess potential risks and impacts on surrounding natural and social environment that will need to be considered and addressed during the design, construction and operation phases. The environmental and social consultants shall work closely with the feasibility and design teams to ensure that potential risks and impacts will be mitigated as part of the engineering designs and alternative solutions can be pursued to avoid and/or minimize such risks and impacts.

Project Activities:
Development of a draft Environmental Impact Statement (ZVOS).

The ZVOS of the project must comply with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international and applicable national standards, norms and rules, as well as requirements in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources and consist of the following main sections:
• the status of the environment before the start of construction, population of the territory, land development, analysis of the features of the environment;
• a situational plan indicating the available recreational areas, settlements, irrigation, land reclamation facilities, agricultural lands, power lines, transport, water supply, gas pipeline communications and other information about the area and must be agreed with the territorial department for ecology and environmental protection of the local branch of the Ministry Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• envisaged (planned) main and auxiliary facilities, used equipment, technology, natural resources, materials, raw materials, fuel, analysis of their impact on the environment, environmental hazard of the manufactured products;
• expected emissions, discharges, waste, their expected volumes, negative impacts on the environment and disposal methods;
• warehousing, storage and disposal of waste;
• analysis of alternatives and technological solutions from the standpoint of environmental protection, taking into account achievements of science, technology and advanced experience;
• organizational, technical, technological solutions and measures that eliminate negative environmental consequences and reduce the impact on the environment during construction work and operation;
