Project Information:

The Project is located in the center of Uzbekistan, astride two districts, the Kanimekh and the Nurata districts of the Navoi Region, more precisely near the city of Kanimekh. It will consist of a hybrid power plant:
— 300 MW of wind power; -100 MWac of PV;
— 100 MW / 200 MWh BESS (to be determined)
The distribution and layout will become more precise with the final design for the project.
The Nurata and Kanimekh districts are located in the northwest of the city of Navoi with an overall area of about 15,750 km². The geographical extent of the site is concentrated in the hilly in the north and plain in the south areas at an elevation of 400 m above sea level, near the lake of Shurkul.

Project Activities:

• Preparation of Environmental and Social Scoping Report;
• Preparation of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
• Preparation of a Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP)
• Preparation of a Resettlement and Livelihood Restoration Framework (LARF);
• Preparation of E&S Management Plan (ESMP) and associated Management Plans.
• Conduction of baseline study of natural and climatic conditions of project area with identification of sensitive receptors such as protected areas, important natural areas and cultural heritages;
• At least one round of bird survey will be conducted in the project area in order to identify type of birds and required mitigation measures. As per findings of biodiversity assessment additional monitoring of birds during migration seasons and nesting period could be conducted;
• Revision of regulatory and Institutional Framework;
• Assess project’s environmental and social impacts at various stages: pre-construction, construction, operation, demolishing and prioritize them;
• Development of Environmental mitigation and monitoring plans (EMMPs);
• Disclose finding of environmental assessment, developed EMMPs and GRM for stakeholders in the project area through conduction of public consultation (PC); and
• Integration of findings from PC in the final version of Environmental Impact Assessment report and disclose on Client website and associated Management Plans.
