Project Information:
The Uzbekistan Government Energy Strategy aims to diversify its energy mix and reduce carbon emissions and promote a green future. As part of this strategy, ACWA Power and JSC “Uzkimoyosanoat “are going to develop a 20MW- 40 MW Green Hydrogen pilot plant using renewable wind energy within the existing JSC “Maxam Chirchik” in Chirchik city of Tashkent region. The Green Hydrogen will be used to produce Ammonia.
The proposed project is the installation of a pilot plant to produce Green Hydrogen, located at the MAXAM Industrial Complex in Chirchiq, which is about 45 km away from Tashkent. The production capacity of the plant will be about 3,000 tons of Green Hydrogen per year from 20MW (up to 40MW) through electrolysis.
